Renault unveils 8 Gordini Concept electric sports car
Renault has unveiled the 8 Gordini Concept, an electric two-seater coupe that reimagines the iconic 1964 Renault 8 Gordini for the modern era. Debuted at the Renault Carwalk event in Paris, the concept vehicle serves as a design study rather than a production model.
The concept maintains the original's rear-wheel-drive configuration and sporty character, powered by an electric system delivering 270 horsepower. Its design draws inspiration from cafe racer culture, featuring clean lines, a carbon fiber body, and a wide stance with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels.
To honor its heritage, the vehicle incorporates several signature elements, including the classic double white stripes, six circular headlights, and the Bleu de France color scheme. The interior utilizes a minimalist, driver-focused layout with brushed aluminum, Alcantara, and digital circular displays. The concept is scheduled for exhibition at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026 and will eventually be housed in the new Renault Collections museum in Flins.
