Renault unveils Eco-G-120 autogas engine for 2026 Clio, Captur and Symbioz

Renault will replace its Eco‑G 100 LPG engine with the new Eco‑G 120 across its GPL range from 2026. The 1.2‑litre three‑cylinder turbo delivers 120 hp and 200 Nm and will be fitted to the Clio, Captur and Symbioz. A larger 50‑litre LPG tank (up from 40 L) combined with the existing gasoline tank gives a combined driving range of up to 1,450 km for the Clio and 1,500 km for the Symbioz. Fuel consumption falls to about 6.5 L/100 km on LPG and CO₂ emissions drop to roughly 106‑116 g/km, allowing the models to stay below the French ecological malus threshold. Prices start at €21,900 for the Clio, €26,400 for the Captur and €29,900 for the Symbioz. The Clio receives an automatic EDC gearbox, while the Captur and Symbioz keep a six‑speed manual. Renault cites more than 15 years of LPG expertise and notes that it registered over 15,600 GPL vehicles in 2025, a 60 % year‑on‑year increase.
