Renault unveils electric Renault 8 Gordini Concept coupe
Renault has unveiled the Renault 8 Gordini Concept, a two-seat electric coupe that reinterprets the brand’s iconic 1964 sports sedan. The concept features a 270-horsepower electric motor and maintains a rear-wheel-drive layout, paying homage to the original's mechanical architecture.
Designed by Renault Design following an internal competition of over 300 proposals, the vehicle adopts a “café racer” aesthetic. It measures 4.12 meters in length and 1.88 meters in width, characterized by aggressive proportions, wide fenders, and a signature “Bleu de France” paint job with white racing stripes. The exterior design includes six round headlights and staggered wheel sizes of 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear.
The minimalist interior utilizes brushed aluminum, Alcantara, and digital circular displays to blend heritage with modern technology. This one-off design study is not intended for mass production but serves as an exploratory project. It is scheduled to be exhibited at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026 and will eventually join the Renault Collections museum in Flins.
