Renca to build Santiago's highest 360-degree viewpoint

The Government of Santiago and the Municipality of Renca have launched a tender for a project to transform the Renca Hills. The initiative includes the construction of a 360-degree viewpoint, which is intended to be the highest in Santiago.

The project features a 3.7-kilometer path connecting Avenida El Cerro to the summit, incorporating intermediate viewpoints, landscaping with native species, and LED lighting for the existing summit cross. Additionally, the plan includes three new plazas—one for access, one for children, and one dedicated to indigenous peoples—along with universal accessibility features and assistance vehicles for people with reduced mobility.

The tender was published on August 14 and will remain open until October 14, 2026. If the process proceeds as planned, construction is expected to begin during the first half of 2027. The project is estimated to benefit approximately one million people.
