Renewable energy and efficiency projects receive funding in Poland

Various local entities in Poland are implementing renewable energy and efficiency projects through government and institutional grants.

In Wrocław, the Cichy Kącik Housing Cooperative has utilized grants from the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego to install solar installations for residential buildings on Tyrmanda Street. These projects aim to provide heat for domestic hot water, reduce energy production costs, and lower CO2 emissions. One project involving buildings at Tyrmanda 2-10 received a subsidy of 197,527.75 PLN toward a total cost of 426,659.94 PLN.

In the Kowala municipality, an agreement was signed with the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw to modernize street lighting. The project involves replacing energy-intensive sodium lamps with LED fixtures across the villages of Rożki, Augustów, and Młodocin Mniejszy. The investment, totaling 84,255.00 PLN, is 70% funded by the grant. The modernization is expected to reduce electricity consumption by nearly 43% and decrease harmful emissions by over 42%.
