Renewable energy developments expand in Lapovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina
The renewable energy sector in the region is seeing significant developments through new infrastructure and regulatory frameworks. In Lapovo, the company MT-KOMEX has commissioned the DeLasol North solar power plant. The facility has an installed capacity of 9.9 MW and covers 15.85 hectares, utilizing 16,830 Aiko Solar panels. To optimize market value, approximately 10 percent of the capacity is oriented southwest to increase energy production during afternoon and evening hours when market prices are typically higher.
Simultaneously, in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Operator for Renewable Energy Sources and Efficient Cogeneration (Operator za OIEiEK) has signed an agreement with European Energy Exchange AG (EEX). This contract establishes a registry for the issuance, transfer, and cancellation of guarantees of origin for electricity. These electronic documents certify that specific amounts of electricity were produced from renewable sources, a move intended to support decarbonization and meet European market requirements for energy provenance.
