Renewable energy firms secure funding and execute major acquisitions

Arteus Energy GmbH has successfully secured 600,000 EUR in funding through a crowd-investing campaign initiated by GLS Crowd to realize a battery storage project in Coswig, Germany. The funding, which was fully committed in less than a day and a half, will cover the procurement and installation of infrastructure, including storage units, inverters, transformers, and grid connection. The 5 MW / 15 MWh facility is intended for grid stabilization through energy trading and ancillary services.

In a separate development, Edisun Power AG is acquiring the business operations of Smartenergy Group AG for approximately 440 million Swiss francs. Following the acquisition, Edisun Power plans to rename itself Smartenergy AG by the end of 2026 and relocate its headquarters to Wollerau, Switzerland. The transaction involves a vendor loan from Smartenergy to Edisun Power, which will be offset against capital increase obligations. The combined entity aims to focus on renewable energy for data centers, synthetic aviation fuels, Power-to-X applications, and solar and wind energy paired with storage.
