Renfe expands workforce with 2,000 new hires and facility investments

Renfe is implementing a significant workforce expansion and modernization plan. The company has integrated 680 new commercial operators as part of its 2026 Public Employment Offer, following an expansion of the initial 600-position call. These new employees will undergo training to support passenger services, ticket management, and station operations. This recruitment is part of a broader plan to add over 2,000 professionals throughout the year, which also includes 550 driver positions and 360 workshop staff.

In Miranda de Ebro, Renfe confirmed that staffing levels at the maintenance base will remain stable. While 12 employees have requested voluntary transfers through the 2026 Mobility Contest, the company is offsetting this by adding 12 new workers from the 2026 employment offer. Renfe is also investing in the facility, having allocated over 3.75 million euros to modernize the Miranda de Ebro site and over 600,000 euros for a Digital Competence Center. Future plans include additional personnel for the motor area and the establishment of a railway material recycling plant in the same location.
