Renfe increases Barcelona-Tarragona train services for Concurs de Castells
Renfe is increasing rail services between Barcelona and Tarragona to accommodate the Concurs de Castells. The operator will deploy four special trains—two on Saturday, October 3, and two on Sunday, October 4—to manage the expected surge in passenger mobility during the event held at the CaixaBank Tarraco Arena.
These additional services will increase the standard transport capacity by 5,000 seats over the weekend. Specific schedules have been set for peak travel times, including a Saturday departure from Barcelona Estació de França at 13:11 and a Sunday morning departure from Barcelona at 06:40 to facilitate attendance for the main competition day.
To manage the high volume of travelers, Renfe will deploy 92 staff members for customer service and information, with 38 dedicated specifically to the event. Additionally, security and intervention personnel will be present on the four special trains to assist with passenger mobility and safety.
