Rep. Jasmine Crockett says she’ll wait for money before backing James Talarico in Texas Senate race

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who lost a primary to James Talarico, told reporters she cannot say whether Talarico can turn Texas blue, replying “I don’t know.” She said she “watch[es] money” and noted that neither the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee nor the National Republican Senatorial Committee is spending on the race, suggesting a “status‑quo” outlook.

Crockett added she will not hit the ground until September or October, waiting to see where cash flows before deciding which campaigns to support. She expressed skepticism about polls that show Talarico ahead, arguing that historic poll overruns and the current lack of funding point to the seat remaining Republican.
