An unidentified drone entered Moldovan airspace from Ukraine on the morning of August 24, traveling through the southern part of the country for approximately 14 minutes. Detected at 05:55 near Vinogradovka, the aircraft moved toward Vulcănești and Gagauzia before exiting near Pașcani, Cahul, at 06:09, heading toward Romania. In response, Moldovan authorities temporarily restricted airspace in the southern region for 15 minutes.

The incident triggered a military response in Romania. After radar systems detected intermittent signals in the Cahul region and later in Târgu Bujor, Galați, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense scrambled two F-16 fighter jets and an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter from the 86th Air Base in Borcea. A RO-Alert message was issued to the affected population in Galați at 06:12.

This event follows a series of recent drone incursions. On August 22, a drone, preliminarily identified as a Shahed 138 (Geran-3), violated Moldovan airspace for 17 minutes. Additionally, on August 17, a drone exploded in the Talmaza region of the Ștefan Vodă district, causing a fire and a crater approximately two meters in diameter.
