Milorad Dodik marks remembrance of children killed in WWII NDH genocide

Milorad Dodik, leader of the SNSD in Republika Srpska, delivered a series of speeches commemorating the victims of the World War II genocide perpetrated by the Ustaše in the Independent State of Croatia. He emphasized that the murder of Serbian children was an attempt to destroy the future of the Serbian people and warned that such atrocities must never be forgotten or forgiven. Dodik highlighted the systematic nature of the crimes, describing children’s camps and the extermination of a third of the victims through disease or killing. He also reminded his audience of the ethnic cleansing of Serb‑populated areas in Croatia and the Bosnian Krajina, linking the memory of these events to the 1990s Operation Storm and urging that these histories be openly discussed in Republika Srpska. Throughout the commemorations, Dodik called for collective remembrance and pledged to protect the Republic of Srpska against any attempts to erase its past.
