Republic of the Congo expands school infrastructure in Ngolonga and Bouansa

The Republic of the Congo is expanding its educational infrastructure in several regions, including Ngolonga, Bouansa, and Odziba, to allow children to study closer to their homes.

In the Mfouati district of the Bouenza department, a new building featuring four classrooms has been inaugurated in Ngolonga. The project was unveiled by Jean-Luc Mouthou, Minister of Preschool, Primary, Secondary, and Literacy Education, and Rigobert Maboundou, Minister of Scientific Research and Technological Innovation. While the new facility improves local learning conditions, community leaders noted that additional needs remain, such as teacher housing and an administrative block.

In Bouansa, the community has gained its first general high school. The new facility includes eight classrooms and can accommodate over 400 students. This development aims to reduce the need for students to travel to other localities, thereby lowering travel costs and keeping students closer to their families.
