Republika Srpska marks 34th anniversary of Corridor 92 operation

On 21 June 2026, Bosnian Serb leaders commemorated the 34th anniversary of the 1992 military operation known as Corridor 92, which linked the Serb‑held territories of Republika Srpska with Serbia during the Bosnian War.

Željka Cvijanović, member of the BiH Presidency, said the operation was “a battle for the survival of the Serbian people and the life of Republika Srpska,” adding that every school, factory and hospital built today is a debt to the fighters. Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik echoed the sentiment, noting the corridor prevented genocide, secured freedom for Serbs, and proposed naming a highway segment “9 January – Corridor of Life.” The operation ran from 14 to 28 June 1992 in the Posavina region, carried out by the First Krajina Corps, the Eastern Bosnian Corps and police of Republika Srpska Krajina under General Momir Talić. Officials called for respect and support for war veterans, war orphans and former prisoners.
