Republika Srpska to increase sports scholarships and family support

Irena Ignjatović, the Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of Republika Srpska, has announced an increase in sports scholarships. Potential Olympic candidates will see their stipends rise from 3,000 KM to 4,000 KM, while scholarships for promising athletes and athletes with disabilities will increase from 2,000 KM to 3,000 KM.

Additionally, the Minister highlighted social support measures for families. Support for unemployed parents with four or more children has been increased from 750 KM to 800 KM per month, effective August 1. This measure currently covers 5,089 users with an annual budget of approximately 70 million KM. The Minister also noted the ongoing 18-year program for interest rate subsidies on housing loans for young couples.
