Request Inc. releases guides on art thinking and decision design

Request Inc., a Tokyo-based company specializing in organizational behavior science research and education, has released new practical resources titled ‘Art Thinking and Decision Design in the AI Era’ and ‘What is Thinking?’.

Drawing on data from 980 companies and 338,000 employees, the materials aim to bridge the gap between conceptual thought and practical workplace execution. The resources include a 26-page illustrated guide and a comprehensive research review.

The company addresses common workplace communication issues, such as the ambiguity of instructions like ‘think more.’ The materials categorize the complexities of thinking into six specific requirements: target and purpose, scope of investigation, necessary materials, methodology, judgment criteria, and conditions for consultation or completion.

Additionally, the resources introduce ‘Art Thinking’ as a practice for shaping uncertain realities that cannot be captured by existing standards, allowing workers to reformulate perspectives and value hypotheses through interaction with their environment and others.
