Requião Filho gains Green Party backing in 2026 Paraná governor race

The Paraná state branch of Brazil's Green Party (PV) voted unanimously to endorse PDT candidate Requião Filho for the 2026 governor's race and PT senator candidate Gleisi Hoffmann for the Senate. The party also announced its slate of candidates for the state legislature and federal Congress.

Separately, Requião Filho met with Vice‑President Geraldo Alckmin in Brasília to seek the support of the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) for his gubernatorial bid, offering the vice‑governor slot to the party. The emerging coalition now includes PDT, PT, PV, PCdoB, PSOL, Rede and seeks PSB backing, while internal talks focus on Senate substitute candidates and the composition of the broader alliance.
