Rescue 2026 competition features international rescuers
The Rescue 2026 event brought together emergency responders for professional development and competitive testing. At the congress in Slovakia, medical professionals from the Moravian-Silesian Region Emergency Medical Service (ZZS MSK) received an award for designing the best competition task.
The winning scenario, developed by Dr. Jan Karczmarczyk and paramedics Martin Šigut and Jan Pentka, simulated a passenger train accident involving multiple casualties. The task required 23 competing teams to navigate the situation and perform triage based on the severity of injuries.
Additionally, the 15th annual Dolomiti Rescue Race took place in the Italian Dolomites, featuring 77 teams from eight countries, including Italy, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Austria, and the United Kingdom. The competition tested the physical fitness, technical skills, and coordination of mountain rescuers through demanding terrain, including steep climbs and stretcher transport.
