Resende, Brazil launches mobile CT scanner to serve up to 1,000 patients in July

From July 8 to July 18, the city of Resende will host a mobile computed‑tomography (CT) unit on Rua Henrique Sivori, opposite Praça do Trenzinho. Operated in partnership between municipal and state health secretaries, the service offers free, on‑demand CT scans to patients over 14 who present a medical referral, ID, CPF and proof of residence. About 100 slots are available each day, with an expected total of roughly 1,000 examinations.

The mobile scanner performs non‑contrast scans of the skull, facial regions, chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities. Results will be uploaded to the state health portal about ten days after each exam. Health Secretary Adriano Palma Veras said the unit “is an important ally to guarantee care for the population” and will speed up access to imaging services.

Patients will receive guidance on how to retrieve their reports online.
