Resident Evil movie to feature 2,000-pound practical creature

The upcoming Resident Evil film, directed by Zach Cregger, will utilize a 2,000-pound practical creature puppet rather than relying solely on computer-generated imagery. The creature was built by special effects veteran Shane Mahan, known for his work on iconic films such as ‘Aliens’ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’.

Rather than a direct adaptation of a specific game, the film features an original story written by Cregger and Shay Hatten. The plot follows Bryan, a medical courier played by Austin Abrams, who must survive a deadly outbreak involving horrifying creatures. The cast also includes Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, Paul Walter Hauser, and Johnno Wilson.
