Residential building fires in Germany injure several people

In the early hours of 12 July 2026, a fire broke out in a multi‑family house on Schillerstraße in Lahnstein. All residents left the building in time; one person suffered light smoke‑inhalation injuries and was examined by medical staff. Police, fire and rescue services responded quickly, extinguished the blaze and began investigations into the cause.

Later that night, a separate fire erupted in a residential house in AIDHAUSEN, OT Nassach, spreading from an upstairs room to the roof. The occupants evacuated safely, but several people experienced minor smoke‑gas poisoning, with two taken to hospital for further treatment. The damage is estimated in the high five‑figure euro range, and the local criminal police have opened a case to determine the cause.
