Residential fires in Argentina and Nicaragua leave families homeless

Two separate residential fires in Argentina and Nicaragua have left families homeless and in need of urgent community assistance.

In Monte Comán, San Rafael, a fire destroyed the home of María Rosa Cuellar and three children aged 11, 14, and 15, along with a 22-year-old resident. While no serious injuries were reported, the family lost all their belongings. Local artist Natalia Camenforte is coordinating a collection of clothing, footwear, blankets, and kitchen supplies to support the family.

In Estelí, Nicaragua, a fire in the Rubén Darío neighborhood destroyed two homes, leaving Nohelia María Bellorín and her 13-year-old son without shelter. The fire reportedly originated in a neighboring wooden house and spread to their zinc residence. The family lost essential items including beds, clothing, and school supplies. They are currently staying temporarily with a colleague while seeking donations for basic necessities such as a gas tank, a stove, and food.
