Residential fires reported in Pandeglang and Sampang

Two separate residential fires were reported in Indonesia. In Pandeglang, Banten, a house in Kampung Ciangmane was destroyed by fire on Thursday around 01:30 WIB. Authorities from the Pandeglang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that the blaze was triggered by an electrical short circuit in a child's bedroom, which then spread to the living room. While no casualties were reported, the owner suffered estimated material losses of approximately Rp 120 million.

In Sampang, East Java, a house in Bunten Timur Village was burned on Friday. Police suspect the fire was intentionally set by a 31-year-old man, identified as Y, who reportedly has a history of mental health issues. Witnesses observed Y sitting near a rambutan tree while the house burned. The house was empty at the time of the incident, resulting in no casualties. Local police have secured the suspect and are coordinating with health professionals for further handling.
