Residential and waste fires in Indonesia

Overview

Multiple fire incidents have been reported across various regions in Indonesia.

In early September, residential fires occurred in Pandeglang, Banten, where an electrical short circuit destroyed a house, and in Sampang, East Java, where police suspect a man with mental health issues intentionally set a house on fire. Neither incident resulted in casualties.

Later in the month, Jakarta reported further incidents, including a residential fire in Pesanggrahan suspected to be caused by an electrical malfunction and a waste fire in Pulau Tidung believed to have been triggered by improperly discarded cigarette butts. No injuries were reported in the Jakarta incidents.
