Residents and local groups oppose high-voltage power line in Bembrive

More than 1,500 formal objections have been filed by the Bembrive en Pé association against a proposed high-voltage power line project promoted by Red Eléctrica de España. The project, intended to secure electricity supply for the Stellantis factory, involves a 21-kilometer route featuring 15 towers reaching heights of up to 55 meters.

Opponents argue the aerial layout will negatively impact approximately 24 hectares of woodland, the Eifonso river, and local water sources. Residents and the BNG political group are calling for the project to be halted or modified to include underground cabling, similar to other sections of the route, to minimize environmental and landscape damage.

The municipality of Mos has also approved the submission of objections, citing potential risks to protected assets and underground water resources used for human consumption.
