Residents in Banja Luka and Tržič protest parking changes

Residents of the Starčevica neighborhood in Banja Luka are opposing the proposed expansion of paid parking zones. Local representatives argue that the area already suffers from a severe shortage of parking spaces due to rapid urban development and insufficient infrastructure. They contend that the city should prioritize constructing at least 1,000 new parking spaces and improving local amenities, such as schools and playgrounds, before introducing new fees.

In Tržič, Slovenia, municipal councilors have approved changes to the local parking regime. New regulations will allow visitors to the local health center to park for free for two hours, an extension from the previous one-hour limit. However, a proposal regarding the parking area at the Tržič Primary School has caused debate among councilors. The proposal suggests limiting paid parking at the school to the hours between 14:00 and 18:00 to assist employees, though opinions remain divided on the fairness and effectiveness of the measure.
