Respiratory infection trends monitored across several Indonesian regions

Health authorities in several Indonesian regions are monitoring respiratory health trends amid public concern regarding Influenza A and Flu-Like Syndrome (FLS).

In Kediri, the City Health Office reported that cases of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), pneumonia, and Acute Respiratory Infection (ISPA) remain within tolerable limits. While there has been a slight fluctuation in numbers compared to previous weeks, officials stated there has been no significant surge.

Similarly, in Batu, the Health Office confirmed that no cases of Flu-Like Syndrome have been detected, and ISPA trends remain stable. Officials noted that FLS symptoms, such as high fever and cough, are closely monitored through existing respiratory surveillance systems.

In contrast, Cirebon Regency is facing a significant rise in Acute Respiratory Infection (ISPA) cases, reaching hundreds of thousands. Local legislators have urged the Health Office to ensure all medical facilities, including community health centers and hospitals, are prepared to handle the increased patient volume without rejecting those in need.
