Øresund Bridge Sets New Daily, Weekend and Weekly Traffic Records

During week 30 (20‑26 July 2026), the Øresund Bridge recorded unprecedented vehicle numbers. On 25 July a daily record of 37,669 vehicles was logged, 882 more than the previous 2025 high. The weekend of 24‑26 July saw 106,652 vehicles, a new weekend record exceeding the 2025 figure by 2,267. The full week counted 236,765 vehicles, surpassing the prior weekly record by 9,558.

Bridge director Linus Eriksson noted that traffic performance exceeded even his expectations after the bridge’s 25‑year anniversary, citing the records as proof of the megabridge’s capacity. An anomalous surge of 41,000 vehicles on 18 July, caused by rail‑maintenance work, was excluded from the record calculations.
