Retailers expand delivery services through new food and grocery partnerships
Major retail and food entities are expanding their digital delivery capabilities through new strategic partnerships.
Walmart has announced an expanded restaurant delivery initiative in partnership with Inspire Brands. This integration allows customers to order Dunkin' menu items, such as coffee and breakfast sandwiches, directly through the Walmart app and website. The service initially launches via the 150 Dunkin' locations situated within Walmart retail stores but is planned to scale to include standalone Dunkin' storefronts nationwide. Walmart will utilize its own internal last-mile delivery network to fulfill these orders.
In a separate move, Uber Eats has partnered with Wakefern Food Corp. to add more than 375 supermarket locations to its platform. This expansion includes various banners such as ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, and Fairway Market. The partnership provides customers with on-demand and scheduled delivery for groceries and household essentials, marking a significant increase in Wakefern's presence on third-party delivery marketplaces.
