Rethymno police seize 32 cannabis plants and 2.6 kg of hashish
Greek police carried out a coordinated operation in the Mylopotamos area of Rethymno, Crete, on 29‑30 July 2026. Officers from the General Regional Police Directorate of Crete and the drug‑enforcement unit of the Rethymno precinct searched mountainous terrain and uncovered a hidden cannabis cultivation site.
The raid resulted in the seizure of 32 cannabis seedlings, each about one metre tall, and more than 2 kg 610 g of hashish concealed in an outdoor location. Additional items of evidence were collected for laboratory analysis. Investigations to identify and arrest the individuals responsible are ongoing, with the pre‑investigative work conducted by Rethymno’s Drug Enforcement Department.
