Rethymno road safety projects approved with €398,520 budget

The Crete Regional Committee has approved two new road safety improvement projects for the provincial road network in the Rethymno regional unit, with a total budget of €398,520.

The first project, covering the areas of the municipalities of Rethymno and Agios Vasileios, has a budget of €248,520. It includes specific interventions on Provincial Road 3 (Rethymno – Spili – Agia Galini) within the Armenoi municipal unit to improve water drainage safety. The second project, focused on the Amari municipality, is budgeted at €150,000.

Planned works include cleaning ditches and embankments, improving storm water drainage, local interventions at dangerous points, safety works, and road re-marking. Maria Lioni, the Vice Regional Governor of Rethymno, stated that road safety is a constant priority for the region and that these targeted interventions aim to address issues affecting the daily lives and safety of citizens.
