Reus begins construction of new pedestrian crossing on Salou Avenue

The Reus City Council has begun constructing a new pedestrian crossing on Salou Avenue at the intersection with Agricultura Street. This project aims to improve pedestrian safety and mobility, addressing long-standing resident demands for a crossing that was previously separated from others by nearly 400 meters.

In addition to the Salou Avenue project, the municipal company Reus Mobilitat i Serveis has been commissioned to design four further improvements across the city. These include new crossings on Sant Bernat Calbó Avenue, Onze de Setembre Avenue, and President Macià Avenue. Three of these initiatives stem from successful citizen proposals submitted through the city’s participatory budgeting process.

A fourth project will address safety concerns for staff and visitors of Hospital Sant Joan by installing a new crossing on Bellissens Avenue near Mexico Street.
