Telangana CM Revanth Reddy demands CEC resignation and orders land probe

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has launched dual political and administrative actions. In Delhi, he condemned the arrest of senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, describing the detentions as an assault on democracy and a sign of a failing government. Reddy demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing alleged discrepancies in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and accusing the central government of attempting to disenfranchise citizens and manipulate election outcomes through the Election Commission and central agencies like the ED and CBI.

Simultaneously, in Telangana, Reddy has ordered a probe into a 45-acre land discrepancy in Erravalli village, Siddipet district. While official records for Survey No. 325 list 388 acres, a recent physical survey identified only 343 acres. The Chief Minister directed officials to issue notices to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family, whose lands border the area, to examine their revenue records. Additionally, Reddy ordered the development of a Telangana Martyrs’ Colony on the identified land to provide housing and amenities for the families of those who died during the statehood movement, with a target completion date of June 2.
