Revolut credit‑card approvals in Brazil linked to activity and plan tier
Revolut has expanded its digital banking services in Brazil, offering accounts, national and international debit cards, and a credit card for eligible users. In recent months customers have reported receiving credit offers ranging from R$ 10,000 to R$ 40,000, leading to the perception that the fintech is broadly increasing approvals.
The company clarifies that a higher‑priced subscription—such as the Metal or Ultra plans—does not guarantee a credit‑card offer. Approval decisions consider external factors like credit score, financial history and payment behavior, as well as internal activity such as frequent account transactions, card usage, incoming funds and maintaining balances in the app’s “vaults”.
Revolut provides two credit models: traditional credit‑by‑analysis, where limits are set based on internal risk assessment, and credit‑by‑guarantee, where users lock their own funds as collateral. Users also note that credit approvals tend to occur in periodic waves rather than continuously, suggesting the fintech conducts batch reviews of eligible accounts.
