Revolut expands services with facial recognition in UK and new regional leadership

Fintech company Revolut is expanding its service offerings and leadership presence. In the United Kingdom, the company has launched ‘Revolut Pay with Smile’, a facial recognition payment solution. This feature allows customers to authorize transactions via a simple look at a terminal, utilizing advanced facial recognition technology and the new Revolut Register point-of-sale system designed for the hospitality sector. The service offers 0% processing fees for merchants and provides end-to-end encryption to ensure user data remains secure and inaccessible to retailers.

Simultaneously, Revolut has appointed Álvaro Alberdi as the Head of Business Growth for Southern Europe and Latin America. Alberdi will oversee expansion strategies, including market entry, partnerships, and marketing, to increase the adoption of Revolut Business. This division currently generates nearly 20% of the group's global revenue. The move aims to provide companies with a centralized platform for managing payments, treasury, foreign exchange, and expenses.
