Revolut warns of balance update delays following Google Cloud outage
Revolut has notified customers that card transactions and refunds processed during a service interruption on October 20 may take several days to reflect in account balances. The digital financial institution attributed the disruption to a large-scale failure in Google Cloud services.
While services have been restored and are functioning normally, Revolut is working to process the backlog of pending transactions. The company emphasized that all user funds and personal data remained secure and protected throughout the incident.
The Google Cloud outage also impacted other global institutions and services. In the United Kingdom, Lloyds Banking Group reported platform issues, and companies such as Royal Mail and DPD experienced difficulties. In Germany, ING reported problems accessing digital banking services.
