Revolution Medicines biotech stock jumps 97% as RAS‑targeted drug shows promise

Revolution Medicines (RVMD) shares have risen nearly 100% so far this year, reflecting investor optimism around its RAS‑addicted cancer program. The company’s lead candidate, daraxonrasib, reported an overall survival of 13.2 months versus 6.7 months for standard chemotherapy in a phase‑3 trial of previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer, suggesting a potential new standard of care. The drug is also being evaluated in a phase‑3 study for non‑small cell lung cancer, while a second candidate, zoldonrasib, is in early‑stage trials. Analysts project peak sales could exceed $1 billion if approvals are secured. However, Revolution Medicines remains a clinical‑stage biotech with no revenue and a market valuation of about $33.6 billion, which is higher than many established peers, exposing it to significant regulatory and commercial risk.
