Revolution Square to host ‘Garden of Encounters’ community week

From September 21 to September 27, Revolution Square in Bucharest will be transformed into the ‘Garden of Encounters.’ Organized by the association ‘Străzi pentru Oameni,’ the northern side of the Renaissance Monument will be converted from a parking area into a pedestrian zone for community activities.

The week-long program includes various social and cultural events, such as morning and afternoon coffee sessions, Romanian wine tastings, and workshops for children. Notable scheduled activities include a ‘Speed Dating with Administration’ session to facilitate direct dialogue between citizens and local officials, as well as panels regarding the ‘Bucharest Brand’ featuring General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu and the Bucharest Order of Architects.

Cultural highlights include a classical music evening and a mobile museum exhibit provided by the Museum of Communism in Bucharest. This interactive exhibit, titled ‘Mobile Museum: History in the Open Air,’ will reconstruct a communist-era apartment to showcase the history and objects of that period within the square where the regime ended in 1989.
