Reykjavík reports rising school violence and new cyberbullying prevention tools

Reports from the Reykjavík City Council indicate a rise in violence within primary schools, involving both students and parents. While some commentary suggests these incidents may be linked to recent immigration patterns, official discussions focus on the increasing frequency of reported violent acts in the school environment.

In response to digital threats, the Icelandic Police, in collaboration with several educational and social organizations, have released a new educational package aimed at preventing cyberbullying. This resource is designed for middle and high school students to address the risks associated with high social media usage. The initiative follows a previous release focused on preventing the sharing of explicit content and sexual coercion.
