Régis Pitbull, former Brazilian football star, living as homeless in São Paulo

Régis Pitbull, a former Brazilian football star who played for prominent clubs including Corinthians and Vasco da Gama, is currently living as a homeless person on the streets of São Paulo. Now 49 years old, the former midfielder and winger has struggled with severe crack cocaine addiction for years, a battle that began during his active playing career.

His financial downfall was precipitated by unpaid taxes and property obligations. While he still owns one piece of real estate, he is currently unable to access it due to ongoing legal proceedings regarding his debts. His personal struggles also led to legal issues, including an arrest last year following an assault on a building manager.

Pitbull, who previously played internationally in Turkey, Portugal, and South Korea, expressed a desire for anonymity in recent interviews, stating, “It is better if everyone thinks I am dead. I don't want anyone to know I exist.” Despite his situation, he noted that some fans and former teammates still offer support, occasionally providing meals or assistance.
