Órgiva hosts 33rd Festival Flamenco on August 1

The municipality of Órgiva in Granada will hold the 33rd edition of the Festival Flamenco “Ciudad de Órgiva” on Saturday, 1 August, at 22:00 in Plaza Alpujarra. The event is free to the public and aims to reaffirm the town’s reputation as a hub for flamenco enthusiasts.

Deputy of Culture and Education Pilar Caracuel and mayor Raúl Orellana presented the programme, highlighting the festival’s role in preserving local heritage and promoting artistic talent. The line‑up features guitarists Agustín Carbonell “El Bola” and José Cortés “El Pirata”; dancers Cristina Remacho, Rocío Montoya, Manuela “La Isleña” with a special appearance by Daniel Caballero; and singers Alejandro “El Gambimbas”, Antonio Heredia and percussionist Pancho Brañas.

Founded in 1996, the festival has become one of the key cultural events of the Alpujarra region, drawing both residents and visitors and supporting the continuation of traditional flamenco art.
