Rhein-Neckar-Kreis Health Department urges timely flu vaccinations

The Rhein-Neckar-Kreis Health Department, which also oversees Heidelberg, is urging citizens to receive influenza vaccinations ahead of the upcoming flu season. Dr. Anne Kühn, head of the department, emphasized that vaccination protects individual health and reduces the transmission of viruses to vulnerable populations.

Vaccinations are particularly recommended for the elderly, individuals with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and healthcare workers. In addition to medical practices, many pharmacies are now offering vaccinations to provide accessible options. A nationwide vaccination action week will take place from November 9 to 15, featuring a ‘Long Night of Vaccination’ on November 12, where participating pharmacies may offer extended hours.
