Rhätische Bahn announces 2026 Advent special train journeys

The Rhätische Bahn has scheduled three special Advent excursions for December 2026, featuring historical steam trains and culinary experiences through the Graubünden mountain landscapes.

On December 5, families can participate in a ‘Journey to the Land of Lights’ using a historical steam train with restored carriages. Accompanied by storyteller Linard Bardill and the character Clà Ferrovia, passengers will search for a mysterious advent light and enjoy soup upon arrival.

The Samiklaus-Express will run on December 6, departing from Landquart. Utilizing the historical G 4/5 107 ‘Albula’ steam locomotive, the trip includes fairy tale characters and gift bags for children.

A culinary Christmas journey is set for December 11, traveling from Chur to Arosa via the Schanfigg valley. This excursion focuses on a three-course winter menu served in a festively decorated dining car, featuring options such as beef fillet with chestnut crust or vegetarian alternatives.
