Spain launches multiple urban renewal projects across towns and cities

Municipalities in Spain are completing a series of urban regeneration works. In Tíjola, the Parque‑Paseo Virgen del Socorro is being upgraded with a €2.8 million investment, covering about 4,000 m² and funded by the EU’s FEDER programme and the provincial council. The project will add native planting, a storm‑water tank, a solar pergola and pedestrian‑friendly upgrades.

In Constantí, sidewalks on Jaume I, Vidal, Barraquer and La Coma have been renovated. The €342,677 contract delivered roughly 5,000 m² of new paving, wider 1.8 m walkways and improved tree placement to meet accessibility standards.

Ribadesella’s La Cuesta road received €80,000 of safety improvements, including anti‑slip surfacing, blue pedestrian lanes and schematic foot‑traffic markings.

Estepona finished the integral remodel of Avenida Mirador de Cancelada, a €2.95 million project that introduced new pavement, upgraded utilities, tree planting and a one‑way traffic scheme.

Torremolinos is adding a circular pedestrian route linking the Ermita de San Miguel with the town centre, part of the EU‑co‑financed “Torremolinos Verde y Resiliente” plan.

In Rute, the interior fence of the CEIP Fuente del Moral school was replaced with a €29,000 metal structure to improve safety and accessibility for pupils.
