Law enforcement conducts major criminal operations in Portugal and Angola

In Angola, the Public Ministry has requested increased prison sentences for defendants in the AGT case, which involves losses to the state exceeding 100 billion kwanzas. Prosecutors argue that previous sentences were insufficient and are seeking to review the acquittal of several companies and individuals.

In Portugal, law enforcement agencies have conducted several major operations. In Sintra, the Judicial Police disrupted a structured drug trafficking network, seizing approximately 2,500 doses of narcotics including cocaine, hashish, and MDMA. In the Azores, two men face preventive detention for drug trafficking in Ribeira Grande following the seizure of heroin and synthetic drugs.

Other criminal activities reported include the arrest of three individuals for possessing prohibited weapons in the Sintra rail line, the detention of three people for selling counterfeit goods at the Espinho Fair, and the arrest of six pickpockets in Lisbon's historic center. Additionally, a young individual faces charges for 76 crimes involving child pornography and incitement to violence and self-harm via digital platforms.
