Val di Sole hosts UCI Mountain Bike World Championships

The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy, have seen significant action on the demanding Black Snake track. Italian rider Filippo Gilardino secured a bronze medal in the Men's Junior Downhill, finishing with a time of 3:48.647 despite a broken chain during his run. He followed the gold medalist, Switzerland's Raoul Schneeberger, and silver medalist Felix Griffiths from Great Britain.

In the Women's Junior Downhill, Australia's Tilly Boadle took the gold medal. The championships continue to feature elite competitions, including the Men's Elite downhill finals, as riders navigate technical forest sections and challenging terrain.

Other sporting events in the region include the 44th Rally Casciana Terme, which has surpassed 100 registrations, and the 20th Rally Due Valli Historic, featuring 105 vehicles. Additionally, the motocross championship concludes in Castiglione del Lago, and international rugby matches between South Africa and the All Blacks are scheduled for the weekend.
