Éric Ciotti proposes 2027 presidential alliance pact to Marine Le Pen

Éric Ciotti, the Mayor of Nice and leader of the Union des droites pour la République (UDR), has proposed a formal alliance pact to Marine Le Pen for the 2027 presidential election. Speaking to approximately 6,000 supporters in Levens, Ciotti stated he has already discussed this proposal with Le Pen during the current week.

Ciotti presented roughly fifteen complementary policy proposals to assist in building a platform for the upcoming election. His platform includes several hard-right measures, such as the abolition of birthright citizenship (droit du sol), the removal of family reunification rights, and a significant territorial restructuring that would merge departments, metropolises, and regions into large provinces. Additionally, he proposed introducing capitalization into the pension system and reducing taxes on inheritance and donations.

On international matters, Ciotti distinguished himself from some National Rally (RN) figures by expressing clear support for Ukraine. He emphasized the need to combat the Russian invasion and ensure Ukraine has the means to remain a free and independent sovereign nation.
