Mexican political parties prepare for 2027 elections
Mexican political figures and parties are actively positioning themselves for the 2027 elections. Ricardo Monreal has presented his book, ‘27 razones para el 2027’, at the Chamber of Deputies, signaling his political outlook and leaving the door open to potential reelection.
Monreal has cautioned the Morena party against complacency, warning of potential alliances between opposition parties PRI and PAN. Meanwhile, PRI national leader Alejandro Moreno confirmed that the party is conducting a practical analysis to build a ‘great broad citizen front’ through common candidacies with the PAN to challenge Morena's dominance.
Internal tensions are also emerging within the ruling coalition, as the PT party analyzes the possibility of competing independently in 2027. Despite these frictions, some legislators have dismissed the possibility of legislative paralysis resulting from differences between Morena and PT.
