Rimini and Romagna regions announce diverse infrastructure and social initiatives
The Rimini and Romagna regions are undergoing several infrastructure, economic, and social developments. In Rimini, the municipality is launching a gender culture training program for over 200 workers under the ‘Women’s Skill’ project. Additionally, the city is planning a new inclusive green plaza on the seafront at the former Enel site, with construction set for 2027, and is searching for a dedicated facility to support delivery riders.
Economic and tourism infrastructure is also expanding. The Rimini Fair is preparing for the 29th edition of Ecomondo in November 2026, featuring over 70 events on ecological transition. Plans for a new 15,000-seat arena at the Rimini Fair have received support from Confcooperative Romagna-Estense, though officials emphasize the need for improved highway and rail links. In Riccione, a new 25-meter indoor pool is expected to open in November, funded largely by PNRR European funds.
Regional coordination is also a focus. A new regional steering committee for airports aims to create a unified strategy for Emilia-Romagna’s airports, following significant growth at Rimini’s Fellini Airport. Meanwhile, discussions continue regarding the national framework for beach concessions, with local authorities in Ravenna and Rimini monitoring upcoming regulatory changes.
