Tottenham's Richarlison future uncertain after friendly win

Brazilian striker Richarlison scored the stoppage‑time winner as Tottenham beat Chelsea 2‑1 in a pre‑season friendly in Sydney, having also netted in a 2‑0 win over Auckland FC the previous weekend. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi said he cannot confirm whether the 29‑year‑old will stay, noting that Richarlison “sometimes says he wants to stay, sometimes he wants to leave” and that the club must respect his wishes. De Zerbi praised Richarlison’s attitude, work ethic and goal‑scoring record – 12 goals last season – but highlighted the difficulty of finding a similar striker. The club, which finished 17th in the Premier League last season, has embarked on an aggressive transfer window and is still targeting forwards such as Manchester City’s Savinho. Richarlison is in the final year of his contract, and his future remains a key question for Tottenham’s rebuilding plans.
